Free heel, free spirit! Telemark skiing offers a different way to explore the mountains and hit the slopes. This discipline is defined by its distinctive stance—featuring a free heel—which requires balance, coordination, and physical engagement.

About the Telemark discovery session in Métabief

In Métabief, discovery sessions are designed for teenagers and adults looking to step away from standard alpine skiing and try a new way of gliding. Guided by an instructor, you will gradually learn the basics of the Telemark stance, how to make your first turns, and the essential techniques needed to move with greater ease.

Horaires

Session times for the Telemark Discovery sessions are determined by the slots offered by ESi Métabief and instructor availability. As this is a specialized activity, we recommend contacting the school directly to check available slots and arrange your session.

The instructor can also guide you toward the format best suited to your skill level and skiing experience.

Ski pass and equipement

An adaptive ski pass is also required to use the ski lifts and make the most of the session.

Equipment needed for telemark lessons in Métabief

To enjoy the best possible telemark experience, bring warm, waterproof ski clothing, gloves or mittens, a helmet, and ski goggles or sunglasses. Telemark-specific gear includes suitable skis and boots that allow for the discipline’s characteristic flex. If you do not have your own equipment, check with ESi Métabief to find out what options are available.
